For the past five years Suburban O&P has been privileged to provide a yearly in-service to Physical
Therapy Assistant students at Oakton Community College. On April 23rd prosthetic and orthotic
lectures were given to students with examples of a variety of new devices in the field of prosthetics and
orthotics. The following day the class split into a morning and afternoon group where students were
able to take a field trip to our office. Students saw a number of our patients and heard first hand from
our patients their experiences with their prostheses. We enjoyed our time with the students and look
forward to next years class. Special thanks to all our patients who participated as patient models
during the Oakton field trip (Jim McLaughlin, Joe Swiatek, Adam Puchalski, Margaret Bunce, Manuel
Gonzales, Norm Siegel, Luke Lisak, Velinda Hookanson, "Uncle Leo" Glickman, Tom Bucki).
